POSITION TITLE: Ice Maintenance

LOCATION: Ice Sports – River Cree Resort, Edmonton

REPORTS TO: Production Manager

SCOPE:

Under the direction the direction of the Production Manager, ensure that floods are done on time with safety being a prime concern. Primary responsibilities include ice resurfacing, edging, janitorial work & (T’s) ice plant / compressor log readings, & some HVAC troubleshooting.

 As a member of the facility team the position provides cooperative assistance within all areas of the business.  The attitude demonstrated in fulfilling the responsibilities shows a clear understanding of our customers’ need for service excellence and are committed to it.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

• Possess a positive work ethic and the ability to respond to customers needs in a kind and courteous manner.
• Flood and maintain ice as scheduled.
• Participating in keeping all areas of the facility neat and tidy as well as safe at all times.
• Ability to use various equipment and tools common to the role and the facility.
• Making sure that all entrances are kept clear and safe of all debris and snow.
• Monitor the ice plant regularly.
• Completing all log reports as required.
• Do minor maintenance on facility, and ice maintenance equipment.
• Response to emergency call out duty as required.
• Supports and promotes a safe work environment.
• Flexible with respect to shifts, ability to work evenings, weekends, graveyard and day shifts.
• Other duties as required.

 

QUALIFICATIONS / SPECIAL SKILLS

• Arena Operator Level I is preferred, Arena Operator Level II is an asset.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

• Must have a minimum of grade 12 or equivalent.
• Possess a valid class 5 driver’s license.
• Must be able to follow directions, written and oral.
• Basic Computer knowledge and skill preferred.
• Solid communication skills.
