Recruitment Specialist

THE ROLE
The primary role of the Recruitment Specialist is to bring their recruitment expertise to the daily operations of HR office. This role is expected to support the Human Resource Team with the design and execution of recruitment strategies and processes. The incumbent will coordinate administrative tasks in regards to on-boarding and recruitment processes and maintain the department’s recruitment database.
- Provide excellent service to all associates who enter the HR office.
- Work with HR Manager to address the recruiting needs for both hourly and salaried positions.
- Develop recruitment plan and creative sourcing strategies for candidates.
- Be a positive, pro-active force in assisting department heads to fill all open job positions as quickly as possible
- Ensure job requisitions for vacant positions are processed in a timely fashion.
- Create appropriate job postings/advertisements as required.
- Track open competitions on a weekly basis and ensure vacancies are posted on RCR website and other recruitment websites when necessary.
- Maintain applicant tracking system database including hiring, talent pool and disqualified areas.
- Complete screening interviews for all salaried positions and make recommendations of candidacy.
- Answer queries related to job openings, book appointments and conduct employment interviews with department Hiring Managers for “salaried” positions.
- Conduct Backcheck for all applicable positions and prepare all employment documentation relating to employee on-boarding and orientation processes.
- Facilitate orientation on a weekly basis.
- Be part of the COS Facilitation Team and facilitate training on a rotating basis with other team members.
- Responsible for new “AGLC” license applications.
- Represent and market the Casino to potential recruitment sources. i.e. high schools, colleges, universities, work practicum, placement agencies, etc.
- Research and organize job fairs, trade shows, school and community events (Enoch Community)
- Track all Associate Referrals and ensure that Action Forms are submitted in a timely manner to the Finance Department
- Ensure there is an adequate stock of all onboarding forms at all times
- Work closely with HR Manager with respect to recruitment initiatives and personal development plans for Enoch associates
- Ensure Workforce Status Report is updated on a weekly basis.
- Assist in other HR projects and initiatives.
- Any other duties as required
THE INDIVIDUAL
- Certificate, diploma or degree in Human Resources or related field.
- Competency in Microsoft Office.
- Minimum 2 (two) years related working experience in an HR environment with a minimum of 1 year recruiting experience, preferably working with diverse cultures, especially First Nations communities.
- Knowledgeable about Aboriginal cultures and diversity in the workplace – working experience with Aboriginal cultures is an asset.
- Previous experience in an administrative role, definite asset
- Proven superior communication, inter-personal, and organizational skills background in order to effectively coordinate the day-to-day workload efficiently.
- A track-record of effective human resources customer service to a number of departments with competing needs, and providing sound advice on sensitive matters.
- A combination of education/experience may be considered if it directly relates to this position.
