THE COMPANY

 River Cree Resort and Casino is a full-service/state of the art hotel and entertainment establishment located on the Enoch Nation (outside of Edmonton, Alberta).  You will be involved in creating a culture based on outstanding customer service and customer loyalty. 

 

THE ROLE

The Public Areas Assistant Manager is responsible for assisting with the day to day operation of public areas, high quality standards of property appearance and maintenance and upkeep of systems.

Reporting to the Public Areas Manager, this position requires a skilled individual with an enthusiastic, conscientious and team player approach.

The primary duties and responsibilities of this position are:

  • Ensure guests are being provided with superior customer service.
  • A passion for excellent service and the organization's vision.
  • Commitment to learning what our customer's needs and wants are.
  • Encourage mutual accountability in service and inspiring others.
  • Maintain polite and good communication with your colleagues and customers at all times.
  • Monitor and be cognizant of the overall appearance of the Casino.
  • Schedule appropriate workers as business demands require.
  • Enter and maintain a record of time and attendance
  • Coaching/counselling and performance management
  • Encourage staff involvements in events
  • Display leadership skills
  • Be familiar with the required care standards regulations governing your job.
  • Ordering of supplies and maintina spread sheets for ordering inventory
  • Inventory of all supplies and uniforms on a monthly basis
  • Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; complete safety training and certifications; properly store flammable materials.
  • Work closely with outsourced contractors
  • Perform inspections daily and fill out inspection reports
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by the Public Areas Manager
  • Be prepared to receive and undertake further training as required by the casino.

THE INDIVIDUAL

  • Customer service skills
  • Ability to work calmly under pressure
  • Should have demonstrated supervisor experience, preferably in a related environment
  • Must have excellent communication skills
  • Multi-tasking is required - candidate must be extremely organized
  • Management or supervisory experience dealing with staff of over 20 people
  • Computer skills in word processing, spreadsheet and time and attendance systems
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Some post secondary is an asset.
