Senior Poker Houseman

THE ROLE

Reporting to the Games Manager, the Senior Poker Houseman enforces house rules of the

department. He/she is responsible for the day to day poker related events in relation to

business development. The Senior Poker Houseman coaches others on the game,

policies, procedures, and how to monitor cheating at play and advantage play.

He/she coordinates player table & seat placement and player scheduling.

• Layout plans for poker room, and analyze room performance.
• Responsible for business development initiatives and budgeting
  (poker tournaments,ties to the poker community, loyalty management,

  maintaining relationships with regular players, etc).
• Scheduling of poker room personnel.
• Oversee the completion of associate evaluations, development, and training.
• Resolve customer and associate relations issues within the poker room.
• Developing and maintaining a culture of complete customer satisfaction.
• Assist Marketing with creating innovative and profitable poker room marketing strategies.
• Acts as a role model for associates and fosters teamwork, associate morale,

           motivation and open communication.

• Other duties as assigned.

 

THE INDIVIDUAL

• Excels as a leader in customer service and leadership.
• Has an abundant amount of knowledge about poker, and passion for the game.
• Has the ability to gain an AGLC Gaming Workers License
• Minimum 2 years experience as a casino table games Supervisor and/or Manager.
• Minimum 2 years demonstrated experience as Poker Houseman and

           5 - 6 years experience in the casino industry

• Strong knowledge of all current Poker games
• Familiar with MS Office applications
• Expert knowledge of other River Cree Resort & Casino games
• Knowledge of casino cash cage and count room policies and procedures

• Interpersonal Skills- Able to work well with internal and external guests.
• Adaptability to Change- Able to adapt rules, behaviors, and procedures when deemed

           necessary by house or AGLC guidelines.

• Leadership- Able to lead people at different levels to reach department objectives.
• Problem Solving- Can decipher changes that need to be made to move the

          department/organization to its desired goals.
