Manager of Surveillance
THE COMPANY
River Cree Resort and Casino is a full-service/state of the art hotel and entertainment establishment located on the Enoch Nation (outside of Edmonton, AB). You will be involved in creating a culture based on outstanding customer service and customer loyalty. THE ROLE
The primary responsibility of the Surveillance Manager is to monitor the activities of guests and associates to ensure there is no cheating at hand, theft, or advantage play on casino tables, on slot machines, or in cash count rooms.
The Surveillance Manager supervises a team of surveillance operators that monitor the premises using electronic surveillance equipment and will report suspicious activities to the proper managers.
In addition, the Surveillance Manager will be responsible for the investigation, reporting and documentation of all possible loss prevention incidents that occur on the property.
JOB SUMMARY
- Supervise a team of 6 surveillance operators including all aspects of hiring, training and discipline.
- Creates policy, procedure, budgets and schedules for surveillance departments
- Answers directly to the Director of Security, Surveillance and Property Management but works closely with the Games Managers and Managers of other departments
- Reviews surveillance of the gaming floor to identify potential problems, such as poor game protection, suspicious individuals, and acting as a support unit to other departments in relation to the protection of company assets.
- Strictly adhere to the compliance of all policies and procedures to the Departmental or Internal Control Manual.
- Audits logs of all procedure violations or completing reviews of all material that is pertinent to site operations.
- Promote and maintain the utmost integrity and the highest caliber of customer service and respect to all patrons, employees and AGLC personnel.
- Provide evidence in legal matters that have resulted from criminal charges against patrons or employees.
- Maintain awareness of gaming operation at all times and comply with security policies and procedures in order to secure company assets.
- Mentor maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Comply with safety procedures including use of required safety equipment and identify unsafe practices or conditions.
THE INDIVIDUAL
- 6-8 years demonstrated experience required in an AGLC or law enforcement background
- Must be able to register with AGLC if not currently registered
- Expert knowledge of investigation techniques
- Expert knowledge of cheating/advantage play and asset
- Detailed knowledge of surveillance equipment
- Willing to hire, train and mentor staff

- The proper candidate will have much patience, enjoys thorough documentation, and will be able to concentrate for long periods of time.
- The candidate must be able to hold a registered gaming worker license as set out in the AGLCs Terms & Conditions.
- Detailed knowledge of casino table games, slots, poker policies, cash/slot cage, and count room policies and procedures is an asset.
