Lead Bartender

 

THE ROLE

Reporting to the LIVE Manager, the Lead Bartender will be responsible for the daily operations of LIVE. This will include; responsible service of alcohol (bartending), inventory control, staff management, opening and closing duties as assigned, cash management, and any other duty as assigned to help manage the business.

 

• Be a visible leader behind the bar.
• Perform all duties as outlined in the LIVE bartender job description.
• Actively promotes an environment conducive to high quality customer service and employee relations.
• Perform daily cash management duties including opening and closing cash outs.
• Monitor and control inventory
• Responsible for  training and mentoring of floor staff
• Creating, manage and implement LIVE policies & procedures
• Understand security requirements
• Ensure maintenance of safety and sanitation standards and policies
• Assist in direction, coordination, and ongoing evaluation of operations.
• Understand basic asset management
• Able to deal with conflict in a professional manner
• Use a "hands-on" approach to management
• Provide the highest level of customer service.

 

THE INDIVIDUAL

• 3-5 years experience in the Food & Beverage Industry
• 1-3 years demonstrated experience in bartending  within Food & Beverage
• Cocktail recipes; the characteristics of wine, beer and spirits; liquor laws; Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission policies and regulations.
• Post secondary education in a related field preferred but not required.
• Training in management and employee development preferred but not required.
• Continuous training and education to keep abreast of changes in the industry and external environment.
• Pro-serve (ASIP) a must.
