Junior Accounting Clerk
THE COMPANY
River Cree Resort and Casino is a full-service/state of the art hotel and entertainment establishment located
on the Enoch Nation (outside of Edmonton, Alberta). The Junior Accountant is involved in creating a culture based on outstanding customer service and customer loyalty.
THE ROLE
- Completion of gaming operations daily activity reports.
- NRT reconciliation.
- Enter daily journal entries.
- Assist with non gaming operations daily activity reporting.
- Assist with accounting filing systems including payables and contracts.
- Distribute invoices to Department Heads for authorization and coding.
- Accurately enter invoices into the system ensuring the correct authorization and coding.
- Checking of vendor statements to ensure all invoices are processed in the correct accounting period as far as possible.
- Assist with any vendor enquiries relating to their account and resolve as soon as possible.
- Prepare bi-weekly and ad hoc cheque runs.
- Prepare cheques requests.
- Completion of credit applications prior to approval.
- Cover other team roles when not in the office for vacation, illness etc.
- Play an active role in month end inventory counts.
- Maintain records in compliance with current legal requirements.
- Attend any training that is required and approved by Management.
- Adhere to Resort Health and Safety Policies at all times.
- Any other duties as required by Management.
THE INDIVIDUAL
- Grade 12 High School diploma.
- Actively seeking a career in Accounting.
- Proficient user of MS Office applications.
- Strong excel skills.
- Knowledge of Timberline or Sun Systems an asset.
- Office working environment experience.
- Experience within and understanding of the hospitality or gaming industry an asset.
- Excellent written and verbal skills.
- Ability to multi task in a fast paced deadline driven environment.
- Self-starter comfortable working both in a team environment and independently.
- Detail oriented and a keen learner.
