Casino Auditor

THE COMPANY
River Cree Resort and Casino is a full-service/state of the art hotel and entertainment establishment located on the Enoch Nation (outside of Edmonton, Alberta). You will be involved in creating a culture based on outstanding customer service and customer loyalty. KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
The Casino Auditor will work closely with the Financial Controller, other Accounting Team members and all other Casino and Resort personnel. The interaction between all departments must demonstrate a positive and professional “can do” attitude.
THE ROLE
- Audit the gaming operations on a daily basis with respect to AGLC & resort requirements.
- Audit all transactions from the cage processed through the “slot bank” program.
- Review the reconciliation of tournament paperwork to ensure liabilities are recorded, operator’s share and charity distributions are accurate.
- Balance sheet and GL reconciliation to ensure accurate representation of business.
- Assist with the development of internal control procedures and audit process.
- Perform cash and chip audits.
- Ensure compliance with all charity and gaming regulatory reporting.
- Maintain records in compliance with current legal requirements.
- Attend any training that is required and approved by Management.
- Adhere to Resort Health and Safety Policies at all times.
- Any other duties as required by Management.
EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS
- Post secondary education in accounting or business administration, including a certificate, diploma or degree. Working towards a Professional Accounting Designation an asset.
- Proficient user of MS Office applications.
- Knowledge of Sun System an asset.
EXPERIENCE
- 2 years internal audit and financial analysis experience.
- Experience within and understanding the hospitality or gaming industry an asset.
- Excellent written and verbal skills.
- Ability to multi task in a fast paced deadline driven environment.
- Self-starter comfortable working both in a team environment and independently.
- Detail oriented and a keen learner.
