Events Center Coordinator

River Cree Resort and Casino is a full-service/state of the art hotel and entertainment establishment located on the Enoch Nation (outside of Edmonton, Alberta). You will be involved in creating a culture based on outstanding customer service and customer loyalty.
THE ROLE
The River Cree Resort and Casino, Alberta’s newest and most exciting entertainment destination is looking for a high-energy, creative personality with proven event planning experience to join our team. Reporting to the Director of Marketing, the Event Centre Coordinator will support key business objectives through the creation of memorable experiences for our customers while maintaining the day to day operations of the Events Centre.
The primary focus of this position will be the operations and maintenance of the Events Centre. The Events Centre Coordinator will work closely with the Special Events and Entertainment Manager to:
- Assist marketing with all consumer driven promotional opportunities and entertainment.
- Generate all necessary material requests, cheque requests and follow through to ensure all invoices are paid promptly.
- Ensures all pre-event setup is done in accordance to the event order and Resort/Casino standards.
- Coordinate and time sequence of service for a problem free and efficient event.
- Ensures all post-event break down and side work is done properly/promptly.
- Monitor daily performance of department ensuring compliance with established policies, procedures, and egulations.
- Quickly and professionally responds to client changes and requests.
- Attend events booked to ensure clients needs and expectations are met and exceeded when possible.
- Ensures orders have been processed correctly.
- Accountable for the accuracy and thoroughness of departmental records (daily, weekly and monthly) and reports.
- Maintain an exceptional level of guest service and satisfaction.
- Update and distribute a calendar of catering events and casino wide events as needed.
- Review and make recommendations of events and areas for improvement.
- Seek opportunities to increase revenue, decrease expenses, and maximize departmental productivity ithout compromising guest satisfaction.
- Control costs and maintain all budgetary goals.
- Ensures consistency of product and quality assurance.
- Manage of third party suppliers
- Other duties as assigned.
THE INDIVIDUAL
- At least two of years of experience in operating and maintaining an event center.
- Experience within the entertainment and hospitality industry.
- Gaming industry knowledge not required but an asset
- Some experience supervising a small team of support staff.
- High level of initiative and responsibility.
- Must be assertive and self-confident with excellent communication and conflict resolution skills.
- Must have excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Must possess strong guest service skills.
- Must be able to interact with guests, coworkers and management in a professional and courteous manner.
- Proven event planning skills required.
- Possess outstanding interpersonal communication skills and be proficient in communicating in verbal and written formats to effectively interface with guests, team members, and the ability to work independently
