THE ROLE

Reporting to the General Manager, the Slot Director will create financial controls and ensure effective implementation.  The Slot Director will make recommendations to the AGLC on slot mix and provide recommendations to the AGLC on floor plan.  He/she will ensure the slot area is operated smoothly and is effective in driving profitability to the organization.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for all monies, staff and daily operations of the slot department
  • Develop procedures and controls for effective and secure cash flow (float assignment, cash slip reconciliation, etc.)
  • Keep up-to-date on mechanics of slot machines to coach and train others
  • Maintain a working relationship with the AGLC
  • Create payout protocols (signing authority)
  • Hire, train, schedule and mentor a team of between 35-40 individuals for slot department areas
  • Maintain high levels of slot department associate satisfaction
  • Responsible for development and implementation of policies and procedures in slot department
  • Ensure slots are in compliance with AGLC – T & Cs
  • Effectively build relationships with all business units within the Resort
 

THE INDIVIDUAL

  • 5-7 years experience (minimum) in the casino/slot industry
  • 3-5 years experience (minimum) in the role of Slot Shift Manager/CGT Manager
  • Expert  knowledge of casino cash/slot cage and count room policies and procedures
  • Casino financial accounting and background an asset
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Exceptional skills at building relationships within the organization
  • Adaptable to change – able to adapt rules, behaviours and procedures when deemed necessary by house of AGLC guidelines
  • Leadership – able to lead people at different levels to reach department objectives
  • Analytical skills – able to analyze and interpret reports
  • Problem solving – can decipher changes that need to be made to move the department/organization to its desired goals
