Executive Director of Marketing
PURPOSE
A structured Executive Director of Marketing role is critical to the success of the River Cree Resort & Casino. The primary purpose of the Executive Director of Marketing is to plan, organize, co-ordinate and control the marketing/advertising activities of the River Cree Resort & Casino.
Role
The Executive Director of Marketing is responsible for the successful overall direction and management of all activities related to the Casino’s marketing and player development initiatives. This position is responsible for ensuring effective promotions, special events and managing public relations. As a marketing and public relations expert with outstanding leadership, business development and management skills, you personify and promote River Cree Casino & Resort’s culture, values and management philosophy into a “brand”.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- 5-10 years of Casino experience
- Post secondary education in communications, marketing or public relations and/or relevant experience
- 5 years experience in a Senior Leadership role
- Strong knowledge of database marketing
- Strong understanding of business planning ie. Budgeting, forecasting and long range planning
- Know how to analyze and interpret P & L statements
- Ability to work on numerous projects at one time, prioritize tasks and manage time wisely
- Excellent communication, organizational and analytical skills
- Ability to manage conflicting priorities
- Must be a self-directed leader
- Strong computer knowledge – Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Event planning/execution experience an asset.
- Must be able to obtain an AGLC Gaming License.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
- Responsible for the successful overall direction and management of all activities related to the Casino’s marketing and player development initiatives.
- Responsible for ensuring effective promotions, special events and managing public relations.
- Provide solutions to departmental needs.
- Develop and implement comprehensive marketing plans that meet the operational, strategic goals in key areas.
- Manage the creative agency to goals, strategies and budget.
- Oversee the development, implementation and accountability of all promotional campaigns.
- Create a competitive advantage through the design, development and implementation of marketing programs.
- Work closely with operations to coordinate new programs that promote maximum growth opportunities.
- Manage effective controls over all marketing results and adhere to agreed upon budgets.
- Oversee and evaluate market research and adjust marketing strategies to meet the changing market competitive conditions.
- Set short and long term programs that will set River Cree Resort and Casino apart from the competition and maintain the brand and reputation to the highest level in the industry.
- Establish and maintain relationships with industry influencers, media, key community and strategic partners.
- Establish and maintain a consistent brand image throughout all product lines, promotional materials and events.
- Determine agencies and suppliers of record and negotiate contract terms, conditions for major services and make recommendations to the GM.
- Hire, train, develop, empower, coach, counsel, conduct performance reviews, resolve problems and provide open communication vehicles to your direct and indirect reports.
- Responsible for overseeing the Player Development department which includes but not limited to establishing goals and objectives for the team members of the Player Development department and implement mechanisms to monitor progress; implement processes for the department and oversee the development and execution of the department’s budget
- Stay knowledgeable on new changes to policy, procedure, or AGLC guidelines
