Administrative Assistant

 

THE COMPANY

River Cree Resort and Casino is a full-service/state of the art hotel and entertainment establishment located on the Enoch Nation (outside of Edmonton, Alberta).  You will be involved in creating a culture based on outstanding customer service and customer loyalty. 

THE ROLE

Reporting directly to the Director of Finance, the Casino Administration Assistant is primarily responsible for providing administrative support to casino Finance and Marketing Departments within the Executive Offices.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Ensure all policies and procedures are followed when ordering casino supplies, furniture and equipment, including drafting Purchase Orders for signature of the appropriate directors, general manager, etc.
  • Ensure all purchase orders are entered into the purchase order log, matching incoming invoices with purchase orders, and forward to the junior accountant/AP.
  • Process and act as the purchasing assistant for the casino
  • Data entry for uploads into the accounting system
  • Record all incoming cheques for the resort in the resort cheque log.
  • Assisting with administrative duties in including, but not limited to:
    • opening, sorting and distributing all incoming mail and faxes.
    • maintaining the administration filing system.
    • ensuring confidential documents and proprietary information is handled and filed in the approved manner.
    • typing reports, spreadsheets, letters and other documents
  • Acting as receptionist for the casino administration offices, ensuring telephones are answered and visitors are treated in a professional manner, and directing calls and inquiries to the appropriate department.
  • Ensure courier services are ordered in a timely manner to meet the required delivery deadline.
  • Maintain the postage machine monetary balance and equipment
  • Other duties as assigned

 EXPERIENCE

The preferred candidate should have:

           2 years experience in an office environment, including experience working

           with finance, purchasing and inventory

  • Be familiar with purchase orders and good purchasing practices.
  • Have excellent administrative skills including a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook skills, and maintaining a file system.
  • Experience with Sun systems an asset
  • Have excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, paying strong attention to detail.
  • Be a fast learner and a self-starter.
